Barcelona player rejects Atletico Madrid’s efforts
Casado prefers to continue with Blaugrana

Atletico Madrid and its coach, Diego Simeone, are planning to sign Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado this summer, according to a press report.
However, the Catalan newspaper Sport reported that Casado does not want to leave, but rather clings to his dream of playing for Barcelona and competing with his teammates for a starting spot, a spot he has been sidelined since Frenkie de Jong’s return from injury.
The newspaper indicated that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is also leaning toward giving more opportunities to young midfielder Marc Bernal, who was ahead of Casado before the former suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
For its part, Barcelona is monitoring the transfer market and will only consider selling Casado if it receives a strong offer, as the player’s value is estimated at €30 million.
Sport concluded, “Despite Casado’s insistence on continuing, selling him could significantly benefit Barcelona financially, and the club’s management does not deny this fact.”
