Klopp agrees to coach AS Roma

An Italian newspaper reported a surprising possibility that former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp might take over at AS Roma starting next season.
The Italian newspaper La Stampa reported that Klopp’s name has been surprisingly linked with the position of Roma’s successor to veteran Claudio Ranieri.
Ranieri will leave AS Roma at the end of this season after taking over as the team’s manager on a temporary basis midway through the season.
The newspaper added, “An agreement has been reached with Klopp, and this is the result of a decision that had been under consideration for some time.”
It continued, “The German coach had previously given his word to another club linked with a change of ownership, but when that move failed, he did not hesitate to take on the AS Roma job, giving his approval to coach the capital club.”
The newspaper noted that AS Roma will undergo a comprehensive transformation not only within the technical staff, but also in terms of the team’s roster for the new season and its signings. Klopp will serve as the team’s coach, followed by Ranieri as the club’s senior advisor.
