Repeated phrase.. Amorim explains the loss to Arsenal
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has explained his team’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday evening, in the 14th round of the English Premier League.
Arsenal scored two goals via headers from two corner kicks, as United suffered their first defeat under new coach Amorim.
Amorim told the BBC: “Set pieces changed the game, we could have been more aggressive towards the Arsenal penalty area, otherwise there were not many chances for both sides, set pieces killed the game.”
He added: “They can put a lot of players near the goalkeeper and it is almost impossible to fight for the ball, but we have to be able to defend against these balls, and we already know that we have to be better.”
He continued: “We were committed and lost because of set pieces, if De Ligt had scored the momentum would have changed, we tried to play but they are a very organized team and it is difficult to score, I felt that the players were controlling the game.”
In conclusion, he repeated his phrase: “The set pieces changed the course of the match in the second half.”
