Manchester City officially announces the inclusion of Gvardiol
Manchester City have announced the signing of Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol from Leipzig.
And Manchester City confirmed that Gvardiol had joined the team, after signing a contract with the team for a period of 5 years until 2028.
Manchester City indicated that Gvardiol will wear the number 24 shirt with the team.
And Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, previously announced that Gvardiol was close to joining the team, and the Spanish coach expressed his admiration for the name of the young defender: “Gvardiol? What a beautiful name.”
Gvardiol is the second Manchester City deal, during the current summer transfer market, after his compatriot Mateo Kovacic, who joined from Chelsea.
“I’ve always dreamed of playing for England one day, and to do so now with Manchester City after the season he’s just spent is a real honor for me,” said Gvardiol after joining Manchester City.
It is worth noting that Gvardiol played a total of 87 matches with Leipzig, during which he scored 5 goals and assisted 3 others.
