“You are a traitorous rat!”… Audio leaks and division among the rulers of Spain over the Negreira case
Former Spanish referee Estrada Fernandez denounced the head of the technical committee for Spanish referees, Luis Medina Cantalejo, describing him as a “rat” and a “traitor” after filing a lawsuit against Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, as Fernandez is the first to start suing Negreirain the famous case in which he is accused of courtesy. Barcelona.
Estrada Fernandez filed a complaint in February against the former vice-chairman of the Referees Committee, before the Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office began another course of the investigations still in force.
And according to the website of the newspaper “Libertad Digital”, an audio clip of Luis Medina Cantalejo presented by Estrada Fernandez was published before the Social Court No. 32 in Madrid during a trial held last week for allegedly violating the fundamental rights of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
According to the recording from inside a seminar by Luis Medina Cantalejo on April 21, Cantalejo referred to a certain “anonymous” referee who allegedly leaked information to journalists.
This webinar took place two months after Estrada Fernández filed a lawsuit against Negreira and three weeks after he filed a lawsuit against the Spanish Federation.
Cantalejo described the referee as a “little character” and that “calling him a mouse raises the quality of who he is a bit, doesn’t it? A little mouse. You’re a small character who hasn’t reached your sporting goals, so you do these behaviours.”
He added, “That little thing here between us has no importance, values or anything. He has nothing else to do but pass on the news to a journalist or several journalists. He wanted to shine and Spanish arbitration was used as a way to achieve that.”
