Tottenham determines its preferred candidate to succeed Conte

According to press reports, Thursday evening, that Tottenham is now preferring one of the emerging coaches to take over his training next season.

According to The Sun newspaper, Burnley coach Vincent Kompany has moved into the lead among the candidates to coach Tottenham.

The newspaper added that the 37-year-old Kompany is admired by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, after he led Burnley back to the English Premier League in his first season with the team.

And “The Sun” added that Tottenham is optimistic about the possibility of Kompany becoming a brilliant coach, citing the experience of his arch-rivals Arsenal, with his current coach, Mikel Arteta.

As captain of Manchester City, Kompany spent time working with assistant coach Arteta under Pep Guardiola, before becoming coach of Anderlecht in 2019.

Spurs are also thinking of Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Brendan Rodgers, Arnie Sloat and former coach Mauricio Pochettino.

But “The Sun” reported that Kompany is ready to listen to Tottenham, as he fears that Burnley will not be able to match the Premier League teams next season, financially.

Italian Antonio Conte was dismissed from his position as Tottenham coach last month, and his assistant Christian Stellini became the interim coach of the team until the end of the season.
