Surgery keeps Bayern Munich star off the pitch

Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic suffered a new injury during training and underwent surgery.
The club officially announced on Saturday that Pavlovic, 21, suffered a fractured eye socket during Friday’s training session and underwent successful surgery.
Although Bayern Munich’s injury comes after a season in which the player suffered numerous health problems, including a broken collarbone in the first half of the season and a prolonged absence in the second half due to glandular fever.
Pavlovic has only two weeks left before Bayern’s official season opener in the Super Cup against Stuttgart on August 16. The team’s Bundesliga campaign begins against Leipzig six days later, and the team’s first friendly match is on Saturday against Olympique Lyonnais.
The length of Pavlovic’s absence has not been determined, but according to Sky Sports, he is expected to be out for three to four weeks.
