Newcastle beats Man United to attacking signing

Newcastle United are keen to sign Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko, Leipzig’s top scorer, during the current summer transfer window.
Newcastle are competing strongly with Manchester United for the player’s services, with the Magpies keen to sign the Slovenian striker in anticipation of the departure of Alexander Isak.
Meanwhile, United are keen to sign Sesko to bolster their attacking line, following the team’s struggles and the inability of Denmark’s Rasmus Hojlund or Zirkzee to lead the Red Devils’ attack.
Reliable journalist David Ornstein reported on his X account that Newcastle submitted an offer to Leipzig for Sesko within the past 24 hours.
He explained that the offer amounted to €75 million as a fixed transfer fee, plus €5 million in variables, explaining that this price is close to Leipzig’s demands.
He concluded, “Manchester United is still keen to sign the player, but has not yet made a decision regarding the 22-year-old Slovenian striker.”
Benjamin Sisko is under contract with Leipzig until the summer of 2029.
