Kroos’s surprising statement about the Ballon d’Or

Toni Kroos, the former star of the German national team and Real Madrid, revealed his position on winning the Ballon d’Or for the best player in the world.

Kroos had an exceptional season with Real Madrid, winning the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, and announced his retirement at the end of the season, as his last appearance was in Euro 2024, which was hosted by his country, Germany.

Contrary to what is usual for stars, Kroos confirmed that the Ballon d’Or is not among his ambitions!

Kroos said, during his statements to the German newspaper “Bild”: “It has nothing to do with me never winning it. In my team, I was with many international stars such as Modric, Cristiano and Benzema. I helped them win the Golden Ball.”

He seemed desperate and said: “If we had won the Euro, I would have had a chance.”

The German national team bid farewell to the Euro in the quarter-finals after losing (1-2) to Spain.
