Foden: I still need to keep working hard

The brilliant star Phil Foden, the Manchester City player, expressed his happiness with his performance against Manchester United.

Foden scored two goals in Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over its guest, Manchester United, today, Sunday, at Etihad Stadium, in the matches of round 27 of the Premier League.

Foden said, in statements to Sky Sports after the confrontation: “My goal is to participate in the big matches. This is what I want to do, and I think I have proven that this season. I just need to continue working hard.”

He added: “I understand what this means for the fans. The derby match at the Etihad Stadium means everything to me. Scoring is also the best, but it was about winning today.”

Kyle Walker also commented on Foden’s brilliance, and said: “This season has been nothing short of the highest levels. This is the standard he set for himself and we set it for him. This is the standard he needs to keep up with now.”

He continued: “When he steps forward and shoots with his left foot, we call him the sniper, because he loves to shoot. When he comes with his left foot, you know that he has the calm and composure to choose his place.”

He continued: “We depend on him. We need important players like him because they help you win matches.”

He concluded: “He is doing his best, and he is always shooting more balls. His goals are coming, and he is reaping the rewards and he needs to maintain these standards.”
