The English Football Association takes action after Pochettino’s statements

Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino is facing an investigation from the FA over his claim that Liverpool received special treatment from referees.

Pochettino claimed that the referees on the field, along with the video technology referees, treated him unfairly during the 4-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on January 31.

According to The Sun newspaper, the English Football Association is scheduled to study Pochettino’s comments to see if they deserve to be charged.

Chelsea were particularly angry that two penalties were not awarded at Anfield, due to a foul on Conor Gallagher and another on Christopher Nkunku.

Pochettino appeared unhappy because the video assistant referee did not intervene and did not ask the arena referee to look again at his decisions.

Video technology will be used in the League Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool on Sunday evening.
