90 minutes separate Chelsea from a disastrous record in Premier League

Chelsea continued its negative results in the Premier League this season, after losing to its guest Aston Villa (0-1), today, Sunday, at Stamford Bridge, in the sixth round.

Ollie Watkins scored Aston Villa’s only goal, in the 73rd minute of the match.

According to the Opta statistics network, Chelsea failed to score in 13 Premier League matches in 2023, more than any other team.

She added: “2023 witnessed the largest number of times Chelsea failed to score in one year in the league since 1995 (14).”

With that result, Chelsea, which suffered its third loss in the tournament this season against one win and two draws, froze at 5 points in 14th place.

On the other hand, Aston Villa, which achieved its second successive victory, rose to 12 points, moving up to sixth place.
