“Manchester United could have signed Haaland for four million, but they didn’t listen to me.”
Former Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blamed the Red Devils for missing out on the Norwegian star Erling Haaland.
Solskjaer had previously worked with Haaland during his training at the Norwegian Molde club, the team that the Norwegian striker played for before making his way with Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund to his current team, Manchester City.
“I contacted Manchester United 6 months before I came to coach the team, and told them that I had this striker who would benefit them, but they did not listen to me,” Solskjaer said in statements reported by the British newspaper “The Sun”.
He added, “I asked them for 4 million pounds only for Haaland, but they refused the deal.”
There is no doubt that the Red Devils are biting the fingers of remorse now that Haaland moved to City for 50 million pounds, and his market value has become 200 million pounds at the present time due to his impressive level under the leadership of coach Pep Guardiola.
It is noteworthy that Solskjaer worked as a coach for Manchester from 2018 to 2021 after the departure of Jose Mourinho, and he did not win any championship with the Red Devils, and he settled for second place in the English Premier League table.
