Eintracht Frankfurt player with a value of 100 million .. Who is Randall Kolo Mwani and how did he become Manchester United’s first goal?

Ten Hag articulated the picture of the ideal number nine player Manchester United need, in an interview with Sky Sports in April, where he said: “We have to build a new future, and we need a striker who not only scores goals, but also contributes by linking the game well, pressing is important very important”.

Wouter Weghurst gave it all, but it wasn’t enough, alongside injury-ravaged Martial, who proved he couldn’t be counted on alone.

Marcus Rashford took responsibility for scoring for Manchester United this season, scoring 29 goals in 51 matches, which confirmed his brilliance away from the left wing position, but the Red Devils did not have a replacement for him.

Some reports have mentioned that both Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane are currently Manchester United targets, but the Napoli player is said to prefer a move to Bayern Munich, and it is difficult for Tottenham to accept less than 100 million pounds.

According to Bild, the Red Devils are preparing to make a £106m bid for Kolo Mwani from Eintracht Frankfurt.

But how did he get to this point, where a club like Manchester United would be willing to spend so much on him? Joel explains the answer…

Nantes highlights one of its treasures
In his youth, Moani learned a lot in Paris, where he joined many clubs in France, until he went to Nantes a month before his 17th year, where he spent the next three years in the club’s academy, until he rose to the first team, in November 2018.

The striker was sent out on loan at the end of that season and struggled with third-tier Boulogne, picking up two red cards in his first five appearances.

But he came back again to score three goals and make five, before the league stopped due to the Corona virus pandemic, and when he returned to Nantes, he left his mark.

He finished the 2020-21 season, with nine goals to his name as the team overcame relegation, and the following year he was better, scoring 13 goals and assisting seven, winning the French Cup with the team, and leaving France for the first time, to Eintracht Frankfurt, on a free transfer.

Quick start in Germany
Kolo Mwani, signed a five-year contract with the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League winners, and on his debut he set up one of the goals in his side’s 4-0 win, perfecting his form, in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht suffered a 6-1 defeat at home against Bayern Munich, the defending champion, in the first league match, but Mwani wrote his name by scoring the only goal for his team, and two weeks later, he scored a goal and made another in an exciting 4-3 victory over Werder Bremen.

Moani’s development increased, with his German team, in the local league, and then his influence also appeared in the European Champions League.

Then, during the international break, Kolo Mwani played a major role for France in reaching the 2022 World Cup final, then he contributed to a goal in the 3-0 victory over Schalke 04, and Kolo Mwani scored eight goals in 13 consecutive matches in the German League, in the team’s journey to reach the League Europe champions.

Mwani scored 21 goals in 41 games, a great start for Germany in all competitions this season, but he was unable to help the team beat Napoli, in the Champions League round of 16, but they were competing for another title.

Eintracht defeated Stuttgart 3-2 in an exciting match in the German Cup semi-finals, where Kolo Mwani scored the winning goal from a penalty kick, and now awaits the opponents of Leipzig, in the final match, June 3.

The World Cup experience changed a player’s life
Kolo Mwani made his international debut in a UEFA Nations League match against Austria last September. He appeared only a few minutes from extra time, but he was among Didier Deschamps’ options for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Mwani was left out of France’s World Cup squad until the last moments, but ended up being called-up, after RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku was injured. He was left on the bench for the Dukes’ first two matches, but was picked to start against Tunisia.

But he returned to the bench during the wins over Poland and England in the knockout rounds, but he got another chance to shine against Morocco in the semi-finals.

Then he participated in the World Cup final, against Argentina, so Kolo Mwani joined Osman Dembele after only 41 minutes, when Deschamps tried to change the course of the match, and the Frankfurt player got a penalty kick for the roosters, which Mbappe translated for a goal.

But Mwani’s most difficult moments in the tournament, he was alone in the last moments with Martinez, the Argentine goalkeeper, but he missed a goal for the Dukes that will continue to haunt him a lot, but he succeeded in the penalty shootout when his turn came.

It was certainly an experience that Kolo Mwani will never forget, and he will be stronger after it, and he will join Mbappe and Dembele in France’s offensive line, which awaits a very bright future.

playing style
Kolo Mwani operated as a winger in the early stages of his career, but has reinvented himself as a striker in Frankfurt, adapting easily, due to his intelligence on the ball and his ability to control it.

The Frankfurt player is quick and excels in moving in tight spaces, so the player’s characteristics explain why Ten Hag insisted on signing him to be alongside Rashford.

When watching Kolo Mwani, it is only natural to draw comparisons to the legend of France and Arsenal, Thierry Henry, as they both stand on a similar level.

Moani also has a relaxed dribbling style, similar to Henry’s, and is remarkably strong too, and will have no problems with the physical demands of the Premier League.
