Guardiola: Haaland is ready for the Southampton match…and playing before Arsenal does not give us an advantage

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola announced the readiness of Erling Haaland, the team’s striker and top scorer in the English Premier League, “Premier League”, to play the Southampton match, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, in the 30th round of the competition.

Haaland missed the Liverpool match that was held last Saturday in the English Premier League, which ended in favor of the heavenly team, 4-1, due to injury.

Guardiola said, in the press conference that was held today, Friday, “Haaland trained well with us in the past two days, and he is now ready for the Southampton match.”

In response to facing 3 different coaches for Southampton this season, Guardiola commented, “This is a ‘fashion’ during the current period. It was difficult to dismiss coaches earlier. If you do not achieve results, you are in danger.”

He added, “It would be difficult to analyze Southampton’s playing style if he appointed a coach yesterday, but he played several matches, and therefore his playing style is clear to us.”

He explained, “Playing before Arsenal is not considered an advantage. When we were in direct conflict with Liverpool, we sometimes played before or after it. Timing does not matter. Victory is required in all matches.”

Manchester City ranks second in the English Premier League table with 64 points out of 28 games, 8 points behind leaders Arsenal, who played more matches.

On Frank Lampard’s return to Chelsea, Guardiola said, “I was in contact with him when he was coach of Everton. It’s good to see him return to Chelsea. Now he has a new opportunity and a new challenge in the team he loves.”
