Portuguese Jorge Jesus, the coach of Saudi club Al-Hilal, has received strong support from club president Fahd bin Nafel, as he faces a storm of technical and fan criticism due to recent results.

Al-Hilal is experiencing a difficult season—at least domestically—compared to its previous one, having exited the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup in the quarterfinals after losing to Al-Ittihad, who also currently lead the Roshen Saudi Professional League by five points.

Amid a turbulent domestic season and five league defeats, Jesus has become a target of criticism, amid speculation that the Portuguese veteran will step down from the Blues. Meanwhile, Bin Nafel remains the last line of defense protecting Al-Hilal’s coach.

According to Saudi reports, the Al-Hilal president rejects the idea of making changes to the technical staff at this stage of the season. Bin Nafel’s position is reinforced by the views of former club figures such as Prince Abdullah bin Musaed, who believes that the club’s management should not be influenced by fan pressure but should adhere to its strategy and strive to implement it despite setbacks.

Jesus’ situation is strikingly similar to that of Real Madrid’s Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti. While Al-Hilal’s coach is riding high on an exceptional season in which the team undefeated and swept aside all its domestic rivals, Real Madrid’s coach is living on the ruins of European glory, having won the Champions League multiple times under his leadership, both in his current and previous stints.

Special Protection

The support Jesus enjoys at Al-Hilal is almost identical to the support Ancelotti receives from Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid’s president, who often turns a deaf ear to the angry voices of Los Blancos fans, who see their team as lacking an identity and squandering titles one by one.

This similarity between Jesus’ and Ancelotti’s situations is further exacerbated by the fact that neither the Portuguese nor the Italian has performed convincingly this season. Al-Hilal has lost the ferocity it displayed during its dominant season, and the performance of most of its key players has declined. Meanwhile, Real Madrid has struggled significantly this season, losing shockingly to Europe’s elite teams and is on the verge of a null season.

Jesus lost the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, just as Ancelotti also lost the Spanish Super Cup in humiliating fashion against Barcelona. The two men share a common goal: the Club World Cup, a dream for every coach. However, both may depart at the end of the season, based on declining results.

An Inevitable Fate

Bin Nafel’s protection of Jesus and Perez’s patience with Ancelotti’s lapses may continue, but they will not last long, as the winds of change will inevitably blow in Riyadh and Madrid.

Al-Hilal, on the one hand, wants to make a respectable appearance at the Club World Cup and cling to the hope of winning the league until the final whistle. However, Jesus’s position may not help the Al-Hilal management defend him, especially since he seems distracted by the idea of coaching the Brazilian national team.

Brazilian reports continually cite Jesus as an exceptional candidate to lead the Seleção, based on his previous experience in the land of the Samba Dancers. This is a source of interest to the aging coach, as this may be an irreplaceable opportunity. This is particularly true given his clearly declining fortunes at Al Hilal, and he may not be able to carry out a corrective revolution in the remaining part of the season.

As for Ancelotti, he faces a difficult task: to pull off a fantastic comeback against Arsenal after a 3-0 loss in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, in addition to continuing to chase Barcelona at the top of La Liga and even challenging them in the Copa del Rey final.

Barcelona’s ideal situation makes even the most optimistic about Ancelotti’s future with Real Madrid doubt that this coach is capable of turning things around. The Club World Cup may not be a sufficient reason to keep a coach who has not provided technical support on the pitch with Los Blancos.

A Spanish press report highlighted Real Madrid’s management’s condition for Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to continue in his position until the end of his current contract, which extends to 2026.

Despite achieving the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, the club’s management is not completely satisfied, as they consider winning a major title such as La Liga, the King’s Cup, or the Champions League a prerequisite for the Italian coach to stay.

According to the Spanish network “Relevo”, Ancelotti will leave the club at the end of the season if the team fails to achieve any of these championships.

Although the club’s plans indicate that he will continue until the end of his contract in the summer of 2026, failure to achieve any title may lead to his departure a year before that.

If Ancelotti leaves, the replacement will be Xabi Alonso, as he is seen within the club’s management as the future coach of Real Madrid.

His current club, Bayer Leverkusen, is aware of the situation, and there is an implicit agreement that allows him to leave as soon as he wants to coach the royal team.

Alonso’s contract with Leverkusen expires at the same time as Ancelotti’s with Real Madrid, in the summer of 2026, making it the perfect time for him to take over. However, if Real Madrid end the current season without a trophy, the move could be accelerated, with Alonso starting his career with the royal team sooner than expected.

The Brazilian Football Confederation has given Italian Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, a final deadline to make his final decision on taking over as coach of the Selecao.

The Brazilian national team is currently led by coach Dorival Junior, and the Samba team’s results are not going well with him, especially in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where it ranks fifth.

According to the Spanish network “OK Diario”, the Brazilian Football Confederation contacted those close to Ancelotti, following the Spanish Super Cup, and informed them of the need to decide his final position next May, whether to accept or reject the position.

It added that the Brazilian Federation does not want to wait for Ancelotti for a longer period, especially since he has been their target since the departure of former coach Tite, following the 2022 World Cup.

Ancelotti’s journey with the Merengue is expected to end at the end of the current season, according to Spanish press reports.

This time will be the last chance for the former Milan, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain coach to lead the Selecao.

It is noteworthy that Real Madrid’s results have been fluctuating with Ancelotti this season, both locally and in Europe, and it also lost the Super Cup title to its rival Barcelona.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised his players’ performance in their 3-1 victory over Stuttgart on Tuesday evening, in the first round of the Champions League, at the Merengue’s home ground, the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s goals were scored by Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and Endrick in the 46th, 83rd and 90+5th minutes, while Stuttgart’s only goal was scored by Deniz Undav in the 68th minute.

Ancelotti said in statements reported by the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”: “The main headline tonight could be: Real Madrid won the first match in this new Champions League format, and nothing more.”

He added: “We are still looking for the best version of ourselves, and in some moments we performed well.”

He added: “When we scored the goal, the match could have ended, but after the draw we showed the strength needed to win a very important match.”

On Endrick, he commented: “Endrick has great courage. It was a counterattack and he had the audacity to shoot and score.”

He continued: “It was the last ball of the game, and the best option would have been to pass, but he did a great job. I didn’t expect him to do that, but he has this talent. He is very effective.”

He continued: “You have to choose between building the play or playing directly. If we had relied on building the play, we wouldn’t have scored the first goal.”

He added: “There are moments when you need to control and others when you need to play directly because we have very fast strikers.”

Regarding the differences between his current team and last season’s team, he replied: “We won the first match last season against Union Berlin in the last minute, so this is nothing new.”

He stressed: “If there are those who think that we will not struggle to win matches, they are wrong.”

With this victory, Real Madrid collects its first 3 points, occupying fourth place, for the league stage, while Stuttgart comes in 32nd place without points.

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, received good news from the team’s camp, which is preparing to play decisive matches in the next stage.

Real Madrid is preparing to face Cadiz, tomorrow, Saturday, in a match that could see the team crowned with the Spanish League title, three days before the fateful confrontation with Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

The Spanish newspaper “Marca” revealed that French midfielder Aurelien Chouamini joined the team’s group training today, 24 hours after he trained alone in the club’s facilities in order to avoid any possible injury, while the only player who trained separately was David Alaba.

In a related context, the Spanish newspaper revealed that Real Madrid fans may witness the return of Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois tomorrow to guard the royal team, after a full 9 months of absence due to a severe injury to his right knee.

She added: “Everything indicates that Andriy Lunin will remain the starter in the decisive confrontation against Bayern Munich, and in the Champions League final (if Real Madrid qualifies), while Courtois and Kepa will share the two halves of the confrontation against Cadiz.”

Courtois was supposed to return to Real Madrid about a month and a half ago, but he suffered another injury during training, as he suffered a tear in the meniscus in his right knee, which forced him to stay away from the field for another 6 weeks.

Real Madrid qualified hard for the semi-finals of the Champions League, after beating Manchester City on penalties, after the original and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw.

But the scenario of the match and what happened in it confirms that these matches are not for those who perform the best, but rather for those who can snatch victory in them.

Ancelotti presented himself on a golden platter to Guardiola!
Real Madrid made a great start in their match against Manchester City, after they succeeded in scoring early at the Etihad Stadium, through Brazilian Rodigo, and everyone expected after that that Italian Carlo Ancelotti would be able to handle the rest of the match comfortably.

But what happened next was the exact opposite of those expectations, as Real Madrid unjustifiably fell back, leaving possession to Manchester City and its players.

In fact, Ancelotti gave Spaniard Pep Guardiola what he wanted, which was the space required to prepare attacks, in addition to the ability of his players to deal with counterattacks by Real Madrid players, as was expected.

As a result of their great possession of the ball, Manchester City succeeded in scoring the equalizing goal through Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, after many attempts in all possible ways.

Ancelotti’s humble handling of the match!
Carlo Ancelotti was unsuccessful in his changes during the match, in the second half and extra time, after he removed the Brazilian Rodrigo and brought in Brahim Diaz instead, then Vinicius Junior and brought in Lucas Vazquez as his replacement.

These changes made Real Madrid lose its full ability to organize any counter-attacks against Manchester City’s goal, showing in more than one ball that the team was unable to carry out any counter-attack, and we saw this in an attack led by Camavinga and another one by defender Antonio Rudiger. They did not find anyone to pass to them!

Ancelotti wanted the match to go to penalty kicks, and this was demonstrated by his substitutions, so that success would stand by his side and he would be able to beat Manchester City in his home and qualify.

Real Madrid saved Spanish football!
After Barcelona and Atletico Madrid exited the Champions League on Tuesday evening, at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, respectively, the hope of Spanish football was focused on Real Madrid.

Indeed, Real Madrid succeeded in preserving the chances of Spanish football in the Champions League, after it succeeded in reaching the semi-finals, eliminating the defending champions, and qualifying to meet Bayern Munich.

Italian Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid’s coach, faces a prison sentence of up to 5 years.

According to the Spanish “Relevo” network, the Madrid Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded that Ancelotti be imprisoned for 4 years and 9 months, on charges of tax evasion.

She added that Ancelotti evaded paying more than one million euros to the Spanish Tax Authority in the fiscal years 2014 and 2015, during his first term with the Merengue, as a result of profiting from image rights.

She explained that Ancelotti concealed the disclosure of his income from image rights, whether from Real Madrid or other brands for various events, by transferring these rights to fictitious entities “outside Spain”, so that he or these companies that lack real activity would not have to pay. Taxes on the large amounts he receives.

Ancelotti returned to lead Real Madrid again in the summer of 2021, and recently renewed his contract until 2026.

Real Madrid is preparing to face Leipzig, this Wednesday evening, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.

Barcelona team achieved victory over its counterpart Espanyol in the match that brought the two teams together in the 35th round of the Spanish League, to clinch the championship title for itself for the 27th time in its history.

Barcelona’s victory in the title was absent for four years, in which it was achieved by its rivals, Real Madrid and its counterpart, Atletico, and the Catalan club waited from afar, watching the atmosphere.

But how did the Catalan club achieve that title over the terrible Real Madrid, the Champions League champions, and the same team that excluded Barcelona from the King’s Cup by four at Camp Nou?

Defensive system, but not a bus!
Barcelona has so far only conceded 13 goals in 34 La Liga matches, which is definitely a record.

If the Catalan club succeeded in finishing the season with that number, it would have achieved an unprecedented number in all major leagues throughout history.

The Catalan team now has only four matches, and if it concedes two more goals, it will equal Chelsea’s record.

But what is remarkable here is not the defensive toughness that the Catalan club possesses at the local level in the Spanish League in particular, but that this toughness did not clearly affect the team’s style and its constant desire to win aesthetically and achieve good results, and we will return to that later.

Gifts Ancelotti spy, and congratulations to you next season!
If we look closely at the opponents’ season, specifically the most difficult and always closest opponent, Real Madrid, we will find that the capital club has not been a real competitor throughout the season.

Barcelona never suffered from the pressure of Real Madrid except for a few weeks at the beginning of the Spanish League, but then began bleeding points that have never stopped to this day, and perhaps will continue given the continuation of the royal club in the Champions League until now.

In any way, this is what Real Madrid warned us about last season, and we confirmed it to Florentino Perez, that winning the league title under the leadership of Ancelotti is only due to the decline in competition from opponents, and that his presence is tantamount to the presence of a spy in the ranks of the royal club.

The Italian does not know how to win the Spanish League, and suffers in front of small teams, as if he were playing teams he had never seen in his life before.

What we warned about in this report is the disastrous extent of the royal defense, which conceded 32 goals this season, at a rate of approximately one goal per match, and what we warned about is that Benzema will not always be the solution, which is what happened this season specifically at the league level.

And if Ancelotti continued next season in the technical leadership of Real Madrid, and whatever names the royals would include in the transfer market, then Barcelona would be blessed with a new championship role.

acceptable pragmatism
A return to Barcelona itself, and the strong defense that led it to win that absent title. On 13 occasions this season, the Catalan club managed to win by a single goal.

Of them, 11 matches ended with a goal to zero, which led the Catalan club to collect 39 points out of its 85 points in matches whose outcome could have easily changed.

But what is remarkable here is that Barcelona’s pragmatism was not deaf, and it could be accepted in the end, given that on many occasions he dominated and missed many opportunities, and the opponent could not breathe in front of them.

Well deserved commendation to the management
The Barcelona administration received a lot of attack last summer due to the sale of the club’s assets and the purchase of several deals to support the team in several centers.

But now and from here, praise should be directed to them after everything they have succeeded in achieving this season, whether with the Super Cup or the Spanish League achievement.

In the end, Robert Lewandowski came close to the title of top scorer in the Spanish League and was one of the most important reasons for achieving the title, and with him the great contribution of Rafinha in scoring at the time of Osman Dembele’s absence from injury.

And the defensive solidity presented by the duo Jules Conde and Andreas Christensen, and Frank Casey’s constant readiness to attend at any time the coach requests, all of these things make us confirm that had it not been for last summer’s deals and the sale of some of the club’s assets, the team would not have achieved the Spanish League title.

Objectives are not exclusive
One of Barcelona’s most important numbers in the current season of the Spanish League and its achievement of the title is that 17 players scored the team’s goals in the tournament.

Apart from Lewandowski, the top scorer in the Spanish League so far, there are 16 other players who have scored against opponents, and they are Rafinha, Pedri, Dembele, Fati, Fern Torres, Sergi Roberto, Jordi Alba, Frenkie de Young, Eric Garcia, Javi, Kessier, Marcos Alonso, Christensen, Depay, Baldi and Conde.

This number is necessary because the Catalan club will not stop scoring goals if Robert Lewandowski, the source of the greatest threat, misses him, which has already happened in four matches this season against Atletico Madrid, Getafe, Girona and Valencia.

The whole point
Barcelona achieved a well-deserved title in the Spanish League after years of suffering, even in the presence of the likes of Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and other stars.

This happened for several reasons, perhaps the most prominent of which was the deals that the club made last summer by mixing it with the promising youth squad that the team owned.

This is in addition to the weakness of the rival Real Madrid at the local level and its continuous loss of points, which is expected to continue as long as Carlo Ancelotti continues, in addition to the great defensive strength of the Catalan club.

In an unexpected surprise, Chelsea decided to target the signing of Italian Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, to succeed Graham Potter.

Chelsea recently sacked Potter due to the sharp decline in the results of the Blues, to appoint Frank Lampard as interim coach until the name of the new coach was settled.

The American ESPN network confirmed that Chelsea has set its sights on Ancelotti as one of the potential options, due to the Italian coach’s impressive success with Real Madrid.

She also indicated that the Blues are watching Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino, to choose the most appropriate coach to lead the club’s long-term project.

These names are added to Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, in preparation for settling on any of them during the next few weeks.

In a related context, the journalist “Ben Jacobs” denied this news completely, stressing that Ancelotti is not on the short list of coaches candidates to lead the Blues.

It is noteworthy that Ancelotti spent two seasons with Chelsea between 2009 and 2011, and succeeded in achieving the English Premier League title in addition to the FA Cup.
