Xavi evades a question about his departure…and talks about Dembélé!

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez seemed optimistic before facing Paris Saint-Germain tomorrow, Tuesday, in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Xavi said, in a press conference: “We have a great opportunity to qualify, and we have to find spaces and attack, in addition to strong defence, and I look forward to the atmosphere of Montjuïc being similar to Camp Nou.”

He added: “Paris is one of the best teams in the world, led by one of the best coaches. We have a slight advantage, we are motivated, and we must show a lot of character.”

He continued: “It hurts me to miss Christensen and Sergi Roberto, because we do not have many options in midfield, but the key to the match is to be a united team, and the match will be difficult for the midfielders.”

He continued: “Dembele’s departure hurt me greatly, because I appreciated him very much, and I do not hold any grudge against him. I will greet him tomorrow as I did in Paris. I shook his hand before the match and did not speak to him, and the fans must show what they feel (about Dembele).”

In response to a question about his future, Xavi told the journalist: “You care about me a lot. This was not the case 3 months ago. The important thing is that the team qualifies for the semi-finals. The decision to leave made me feel free, as did the players and the press. Everyone was liberated and began to feel more belonging to the team and the club.” “.
