Tottenham coach explains the six Newcastle United

Coach Christian Stellini, coach of Tottenham Hotspur, explained the loss (6-1) at the hands of his host Newcastle United, in a match that brought them together at St. James Park, within the 32nd round of the English Premier League competitions.

Tottenham conceded 5 goals in the first 21 minutes, before holding out in the remaining minutes against Newcastle United, content with defeat (6-1).

“Things went badly because we weren’t prepared enough for an important match… We have a good team, but today the players didn’t show how good we are,” the Tottenham coach said in televised statements on Sky Sports.

He added, “It was my responsibility to decide how to play… We suffer from a number of injuries, so I chose to play with a different plan and that was my mistake.”

“I have to take responsibility, but it’s very difficult to understand why the first 25 minutes were so bad,” Stellini continued.

And he concluded: “Our mood was good before the match, but that is what appears during the match .. We were not ready to play a difficult match, we were also not ready to suffer, control the spaces and win the doubles.”

Tottenham remain fifth with 53 points, while Newcastle United jumped to third place in the English Premier League table with 59 points.
