“I will not be a diplomat.” Robbie Fowler comments on Mohamed Salah’s breaking of his goalscoring record with Liverpool

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler commented on the Egyptian Mohamed Salah’s success in breaking his number as the historic scorer for the Reds in the English Premier League.

Salah managed to score 129 goals in his career with Liverpool in the English Premier League, to become the historic “Reds” scorer in the “Premier League”, thanks to the double he scored against Manchester United during the team’s overwhelming victory by seven clean in the 26th round of the 2022-23 season competitions of the competition.

Fowler said about Salah’s success in breaking his record in statements to the English newspaper “The Athletic”: People have asked me how I feel, and I am completely honest when I say that I am very pleased for Mohamed Salah.

He added, “I am not a Liverpool fan, and I want to see the strikers score goals and break records, even if that means breaking my own.”

He continued, “I am not trying to be diplomatic. The number has stuck with me for a long time, and now it belongs to Salah. The more goals he scores, the better the team has the opportunity to reach what we want to achieve.”

Fowler concluded: “Earlier, he broke Stephen Gerrard’s number as the team’s top scorer in European championships, and now my number is in the English Premier League. He is already a legend for the club, and what he is doing now reinforces his legacy.”
