Barcelona player on the verge of Girona

It has become clear that Barcelona midfielder Oriol Romeu is out of coach Hansi Flick’s plans for the new season. He was excluded from the team’s Asian tour despite receiving medical clearance.
The decision was not due to an injury, but rather to expedite his transfer and find a suitable solution for his future.
Romeu continued his individual training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, maintaining a high level of professionalism despite feeling isolated from the group.
Behind the scenes, negotiations between Barcelona and Girona are progressing well for the player’s return to his former club, where he excelled before joining the Blaugrana.
The main obstacle is financial, as Barcelona will bear at least half of the player’s salary until the end of his contract in the summer of 2025.
Alongside Girona, Oviedo has expressed interest in the player, but Romeu prefers to remain in Catalonia with a team he knows well and where he excelled under coach Michel.
Romeo played a pivotal role with Girona over two seasons, helping the team consolidate its position in La Liga and qualify for the Champions League. This prompted Barcelona to sign him in the summer of 2023 for €3 million to replace Busquets.
Despite a promising start at Camp Nou, Romeo’s appearances declined due to injuries, leading to his loan to Girona last winter.
Now, it appears his return to Girona could become a permanent move, as he is considered an influential player both on and off the pitch.
