Di Maria mocks Raphinha’s statements

Retired Argentina international Angel Di María commented on Brazilian Rafinha’s threats against the Tango team ahead of their match.
Argentina will host Brazil in Buenos Aires on Wednesday morning in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Rafinha was a guest on a podcast by retired Brazilian star Romario, a star of the 1994 World Cup, who told the Barcelona star: “We’re going to face our eternal rivals, Argentina. Now thank God they’re without Messi. Are we going to beat them?”
Rafinha responded with great confidence: “Without a doubt… We’ll beat Argentina on and off the pitch.”
Romario then asked Rafinha a new question: “Will you score against them?” To which he replied: “Yes, I’ll try to score by any means. We’ll crush them, damn them.”
Some clips from the podcast have been circulating on football Instagram accounts, with Di María leaving a comment featuring some hilariously funny facial expressions.
Di María has contributed to Argentina’s victory in the last two Copa América titles, the first of which came against Brazil with a goal he scored.
Di María also played a pivotal role in his country’s 2022 World Cup triumph.
