Real Madrid management has one condition for Ancelotti to continue

A Spanish press report highlighted Real Madrid’s management’s condition for Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to continue in his position until the end of his current contract, which extends to 2026.

Despite achieving the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, the club’s management is not completely satisfied, as they consider winning a major title such as La Liga, the King’s Cup, or the Champions League a prerequisite for the Italian coach to stay.

According to the Spanish network “Relevo”, Ancelotti will leave the club at the end of the season if the team fails to achieve any of these championships.

Although the club’s plans indicate that he will continue until the end of his contract in the summer of 2026, failure to achieve any title may lead to his departure a year before that.

If Ancelotti leaves, the replacement will be Xabi Alonso, as he is seen within the club’s management as the future coach of Real Madrid.

His current club, Bayer Leverkusen, is aware of the situation, and there is an implicit agreement that allows him to leave as soon as he wants to coach the royal team.

Alonso’s contract with Leverkusen expires at the same time as Ancelotti’s with Real Madrid, in the summer of 2026, making it the perfect time for him to take over. However, if Real Madrid end the current season without a trophy, the move could be accelerated, with Alonso starting his career with the royal team sooner than expected.
