Barcelona defender: The Champions League is at the top of our goals

Barcelona defender Iñigo Martinez confirmed that the Catalan team must have great ambition this season, despite the difficulties, and put winning the Champions League at the top of its goals.

Martinez said, during his statements to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”: “Moving to Barcelona? It is a rare opportunity that comes once. I played in the Spanish League for many years, and I needed a change.”

He added: “Barcelona officials came and expressed their interest from the beginning. When a big club comes to you, and I have played for many years, and at the age of maturity that I live in, it is much easier to make the decision.”

Regarding Barcelona’s goals this season, he revealed: “We are competing in the Spanish League at the moment, so we are only focusing on these matches. When the Champions League comes, the coach will tell us what we have to say, but it is clear that competing in the Champions League and even winning it That should be our goal.”

He concluded: “Although there are a lot of changes and a lot of young players. We know that winning the Champions League will be difficult, but we have the team necessary to do it, and we will strive for everything.”
